Semi-private personal training

The gym for people who don’t like the gym

We’re not one of those gyms where everyone goes 4 or 5 times per week because they want a six-pack. We’re a gym where people come once or twice per week because they want to be a bit healthier, a bit stronger, and maybe a bit more flexible. A gym where people come because they want to get to a few more tennis balls, or get open against the 20-something year old kid that’s defending them in ultimate, or hockey, or soccer. A gym where people come because they want to be able to stay in their house a few more years despite all the stairs, and because they want to continue to enjoy playing with their grandkids as they age.

This might be a good fit if

Any of this resonates…

You have injuries that flare up when you workout

You can almost always continue to work out if you have injuries, but there are things you might have to do differently.

You’ve never liked going to the gym

But as time keeps ticking, you know you probably should. We’re not sure how, but we seem to be the gym where people who don’t like going to the gym like to go.

You love playing your sport, but your body could use some support

You’ve always played sports to keep fit (and because you love it), but lately you’re struggling to keep up with those young pups, and you’re picking up more injuries.

Testimonials

You can find more testimonials if you do a Google search for Custom Strength

“The attention to my individual needs regarding past injuries and ongoing physical limitations is outstanding. Because of this, I have been able to progress farther than I have in a long time.”

“I originally started at Custom Strength to address a hip injury, which has progressed over the past two years to the point where I no longer consider it an issue–and I very much appreciate your help with that recovery!”

“My absolute favourite thing about training at Custom Strength is the amazingly supportive community I’ve found. The trainers and clients alike are friendly and easy going, and its very obvious that it’s a place people love to train. I’m relatively new to strength training, but I’m not remotely intimidated by the other clients or the trainers. It’s an extremely welcoming environment. ”

Interested in training with us? Or have questions?

Book a (free) initial consultation

Booking a consultation will give us a chance to talk about your goals, any injury and health issues that may be relevant to working out. It will also give you a chance to ask questions and get a feel for us. We’ll also ask you to do a few basic movements (we promise we won’t ask you do do anything you won’t be able to do. This is not a feats of strength/show me how fit you are thing; it’s a let’s see how you move so we can create an appropriate training program for you thing).

If you decide this feels like a good fit, we’ll find regular coached workout times for you and you can get started. We’re really not into high-pressure sales, so if you don’t feel like it’s a good fit, instead of trying to convincing you that it is, we’ll just wish you a great rest of your day and leave it at that.

Not interested in booking a consultation but still have questions?

We’ll do our best to answer.
